Investigations in endocrinology
To diagnose an endocrine disorder usually requires investigations of some form. - MRI scan
- nuclear medicine scan
- PET CT scan
- etc.
Where will investigations be performed?
Investigations are requested by Dr Qureshi and undertaken by hospital staff and hospital departments.
All the hospitals that Dr Qureshi consults at have biochemistry, radiology, cardiology, etc. departments that can carry out investigations.
Dynamic endocrine tests are usually undertaken at TrustPlus.
What you need to tell us?
You should inform us and the hospital you undergo investigations at of,
1. any allergies
2. previous surgery
3. permanent pacemaker insertion
4. previous medical history
5. your current medication, etc.
This is because the above may sometimes mean that a particular investigation should be avoided.
Hospitals charge for any investigations undertaken. These charges are separate from a doctor’s consultation charges.
- If you are insured, it is likely that your insurer will cover all investigation costs. You should however, confirm this with your insurer before undertaking tests
- For self-pay patients, a quotation for the cost of investigations can be obtained from the patient administration office in the respective hospital
